We're seeking a Full Stack Tech Lead to join our engineering team and take on both technical leadership and hands-on development responsibilities. This role combines sprint coordination, process improvement, backend development, and DevOps responsibilities while working closely with our Engineering Team and Product Manager. - Own the success of the development lifecycle for each sprint - from planning through production deployment - ensuring high-quality feature delivery
- Lead sprint planning, standups, grooming, technical grooming and retrospective sessions with continuous iteration and improvement
- Facilitate cross-team communication and proactively identify and resolve development blockers
- Guide collaborative problem-solving sessions for technical challenges and process improvements, producing documented system diagrams and efficient architecture plans
- Provide technical mentorship and architectural guidance to team members
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation and development standards such as architecture diagrams, system design, API specs, etc.
- Serve as technical triage lead to identify root causes, assess issue severity, and assign bug tickets based on team expertise and capacity
- Investigate technical issues reported by clients and internal teams, collaborating with client success and product management to reproduce and resolve problems
- Work with the Partnerships (Sales) and Projects (Client Success) teams to provide technical feasibility assessments, timeline estimates, and cost analysis for new features and client enhancement requests
- Contribute to customer-facing technical documentation and troubleshooting resources
- Develop and maintain backend components for our web applications, ensuring optimal performance and user experience
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using Node.js and backend development tools
- Integrate frontend components with backend services and APIs, ensuring seamless data flow and functionality
- Conduct thorough code reviews, providing constructive feedback while maintaining high standards for code quality and readability

- 5+ years of full-stack development experience with strong backend focus and knowledge in:
- Node.js and backend development tools
- Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Database optimization, caching strategies, and system scalability
- Testing frameworks, code review processes, and quality assurance practices
- Monitoring tools, incident management, and system observability
- Microservices architecture and API design
- Knowledge of load testing, performance optimization, and disaster recovery planning

In addition, the Full Stack Tech Lead must be:
- Based in Detroit and willing to come into JustAir’s office at Newlab in Corktown 2 - 3 days per week.

- Entrepreneurial minded, with experience working on small teams preferred. JustAir is a fast-moving startup and all team members are expected to be resilient, resourceful, and solutions oriented. The Full Stack Developer should be comfortable with ambiguity and confident in taking full ownership of their work and the team's mission.

Additional Details
This is a full time salaried position with health benefits and start-date of early November. Starting salary is expected to be approximately $110,000 - $125,000 based on experience. This is a hybrid position and the Full Stack Tech Lead is expected to work in-person from our Detroit office (located at Newlab in Corktown) about 2 - 3 days a week.
